Music Business Accelerator (MBA)

The Music Business Accelerator is a FREE comprehensive program designed for independent musicians and creative arts businesses that operate within the music ecosystem across Texas. The program aims to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to transform their artistic and business ventures into sustainable, profitable careers. Whether participants are performing musicians with 1-2 years of live experience or creative businesses that support the music industry such as studios, event promoters, venues, artist managers, or independent labels, etc., this program is tailored to help them grow their endeavors into thriving fulltime operations.

The Music Business Accelerator provides a blend of group presentations and 1-on-1 coaching, covering key business topics for independent musicians and creative arts businesses. These include essential entrepreneurial skills such as financial literacy, business planning, goal setting, business structures, and operational management. The curriculum is divided into two tracks to address the unique needs of both musicians and creative businesses within the music ecosystem.

Yes, it really is. The Music Business Accelerator is offered at no cost to participants, and that is entirely by design. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, The A&R Foundation believes that education should not be an additional financial barrier for creatives. Any creative who wants to pursue the entrepreneurial journey deserves access to the education, tools, and support to do so regardless of their financial situation. We are able to offer this program at no cost thanks to the generosity of our partners, donors, staff, and the general public, who play a large role in subsidizing the costs associated with running the program. What we do ask of participants in return is your time, energy, dedication, and feedback, both during and after the program. Showing up fully, engaging honestly, and sharing what you learn along the way is how we grow together and ensure this resource continues to serve the creative community for years to come.
